Miya became UK Country Chair in December 2023, having worked at ENGIE since 2006, and is also a member of the ExCom of GEMS (ENGIE’s Global entity in charge of Energy Management and B2B Sales).

She will reflect on her career journey, how this has impacted her as a leader and why diversity and inclusion is an important aspect of the energy sector.

Understanding the importance of name pronunciation

A person’s name means a lot to them and is part of their identity. Correct name use goes to the heart of creating an inclusive workplace culture.

Building on the “Say My Name” research campaign conducted by academics at the University of Warwick, Inclusive Employers share recommendations about how to manage uncertainty over names with respect to creating more equitable and culturally responsive interactions.
