Health index
What is the Health Index?
The health index will be a baseline tool for any company to use and learn from, regardless of where you are on your EDI journey.
Participation involves assessing your business against 24 easily understood EDI best practice statements and requires only one person from your company to respond. No specialist EDI knowledge is required to participate.
The statements are straightforward, such as whether there is an EDI strategy in place, and whether there is access to EDI learning for all employees. It should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
TIDE will use the consolidated data to help the sector establish where it is in relation to EDI best practice. It will also use the responses to identify pockets of best practice that other organisations can learn from, as well as identifying focus areas for TIDE to provide guidance on.The health index is based on a simple structure, with two key statements in 12 categories, placed within four themes: Strategy, People, External and Internal.
This health index is NOT:
- A sophisticated maturity assessment
- An EDI data collection project
- A league table that identifies individual company performance
- Specific to each strand of diversity – it is inclusion focused
- A tool that requires extensive data or EDI knowledge in order to take part
Why take part?
For change to happen, we need commitment to improving EDI in the energy sector as a whole. The health index allows:
- You to understand where to target your own company learning
- You to benchmark your company against the wider sector- no individual companies will be identified in any reporting
- TIDE to identify gaps in the sector to target our efforts to upskill
- TIDE to track progress as a sector so we can celebrate and share industry best practice and target learning opportunities
