Who we are 

TIDE is a group of energy industry professionals working to combine cross-sector EDI insights and evidence to inform robust outcomes, building on experience and expertise to share best practice and support industry-wide changes. It is a cross-company group, with the Energy Institute, ENA, Energy UK and Ofgem as partnering organisations, and providing the secretariat.

How we use and collect your data  

Input for the Hub

We are collecting this data to publish suggestions on the Energy EDI Hub.

Your personal data (name, email, organisation) will not be published, but may be used to contact you regarding your suggestion.

In accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) we will not contact you for any other reason, unless you have actively confirmed you would like to sign up to Energy UK’s EDI Mailing list.   

Expression of interest – Health Check, Leaders’ Commitment

We are collecting your name, job title and organisation in order to contact you regarding the above.

Sharing information about you  

Your information may be shared amongst TIDE Steering Group and Delivery Group members, in the context of TIDE and not in respect of the organisation they work for. It will not be shared with third parties.

How long do we retain your data? 

Your data will be retained for one year, unless you have indicated your consent to be contacted by TIDE going forward.

Our subscription lists 

If you subscribe to Energy UK’s EDI mailing list your data will remain on the Energy UK system until you opt out of receiving our communications or until you inform Energy UK you would like them to remove your data from the system.

What rights you have over your data 

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. 

You also have the right to ask us: 

  • for a copy of your personal information 
  • to correct any information we hold about you 
  • not to continue processing information about you 

Any individual can complain to the Information Commissioner if they believe that TIDE has failed to properly protect their personal information, or to comply with these rights. The Information Commissioner can be contacted as follows:
