IGNITE Network+ launches hub to deliver inclusive routes to postgraduate research
The IGNITE Network+ has launched a postgraduate research (PGR) recruitment hub aiming to deliver more inclusive pathways across the UK energy sector. The Hub combines tools, guidance and information designed to support both PGR applicants the departments, supervisors and institutions involved in recruiting them.

Energyz Black named first winner of Hotwire Accelerator
Energyz Black, which launched the UK energy sector’s first AI-powered career and skills platform in November 2025, has won the inaugural Hotwire Accelerator. The company was selected by the global technology communications consultancy for the market potential, social impact, and strength of Energyzer AI. It will work with Hotwire to develop its communications strategy and wider access to a network of investors and industry voices.

Young energy professionals committed to industry, survey finds
A new report from the Young Energy Professionals (YEP) Forum has revealed that the early-stage workforce is committed to staying in the sector, but that employers need to do better at communicating the opportunities available and supporting those starting their careers. The second edition of its Meeting the Challenge Report, which sought the views of around 350 YEPs from diverse backgrounds around the country, shows that their satisfaction working in the sector is high, with 95% of those surveyed “likely” to stay in the sector for at least five years, and 63% “very likely” – a significant increase from the initial report.

Women engineering apprentices look ahead to hopeful and positive future
Women apprentices are having positive experiences across a broad range of engineer disciplines, according to a survey by Women’s Engineering Society, despite continuing to manage “stereotype‑based doubt” in some workplaces. The study found many engineering apprentices are enjoying supportive teams and inclusive environments but highlights clear opportunities to strengthen the apprenticeship pathway into engineering for women.
