TIDE Updates

Spotlighting Good Practice with Case Studies

EDI is like a complex picture puzzle with companies across the industry holding different pieces. This makes it a complex issue to tackle but together, we are a lot closer to solving the puzzle than we are independently.

TIDE is collecting different examples of good practice and publishing them on our EDI Hub as case studies to share the great work that is happening across the industry. Right now, our website hosts several good practice spotlights on themes like senior leadership diversity, colleague communities and investing in women.

EDI Top Tip: Inclusive Recruitment

This month, we are looking back at the flagship EDI in Energy Conference. At the conference the results of two sector-wide Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) surveys were presented.

The results of Energy and Utility Skills’ 2023 Inclusion Measurement Framework found that while there is continued progress in gender diversity in energy, women make up only 27.5% of the participating organisations’ workforces. This is far behind the UK workforce, of which women make up 48%.

Disappointingly this trend continues when looking at data on ethnicity, sexuality or disability representation.
