“Inclusion is not an optional extra”: E.ON launches 2025 Inclusion report
E.ON has published its 2025 Inclusion Report outlining how inclusion, colleague wellbeing and equitable opportunity are playing a central role in transforming its business and the UK energy sector.
The Powering Belonging report details the company’s efforts to grow colleague networks, apprenticeship programmes and policies designed for ‘real lives’, from enhanced parental leave and support for carers to adjustments for colleagues with non-visible disabilities.
Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, said: “Inclusion is not an optional extra – it is the foundation of a fair energy system and a resilient business.”

EDI embedded but more needed to bring change, report finds
The new report has given a snapshot of increasing adoption of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices across the UK energy sector.
The scoping survey of 180 respondents, commissioned by the IGNITE Network+, shows that many organisations have formalised their commitment and activities around EDI through inclusive recruitment, bias training and other measures like establishing employee networks.
The study found, however, that barriers exist around implementation. While EDI policies have become widespread, significant work remains to move these past symbolic initiatives to effect structural change.
Energy leaders focus on skills in latest progress report
POWERful Women has published its seventh annual Leaders Coalition report, showcasing how collaboration across the energy sector is accelerating diversity.
The coalition, made up of senior figures from across the industry, aims to embed policies and share good practice in support of improving gender diversity in their companies and in the sector more broadly.
A key focus of the 2025 report is on efforts being made to tackle the growing skills gap through mentorship schemes and harnessing innovation in digital tools and AI to boost inclusion.
Clean energy jobs pilot launched for UK veterans
The Office for Clean Energy Jobs and Office for Veterans’ Affairs have launched a clean energy jobs pilot aiming to connect service leavers and veterans with careers in renewable energy over the next year.
Louise Sandher-Jones, Minister for Veterans and People, and Chris McDonald, Minister for Industry at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, met with representatives from industry groups including Energy UK, Renewable UK, Solar Energy UK, the Nuclear Industry Association and The Carbon Capture and Storage Association on 11 December alongside Armed Forces Covenant, Career Transition Partnership and military workforce representatives to set out the plan.
